New Developments in Kai Tak

Once home to the old Hong Kong Airport, Kai Tak had been an underappreciated neighbourhood until the “Kai Tak Development” and “Energizing Kowloon East” Project took off.Estimated to finish by 2021, these projects are determined to develop Kai Tak into an integrated community with commercial, residential, recreational, and transportation, providing more new development options for Hong Kong residents. The aim is to build a desirable habitat with a planned green zone of over 100 hectares proving the promise.Kai Tak is going to be crucial to the new build supply in coming years as the neighbourhood quickly develops into a vibrant and self-sufficient community. The airport site was turned into a cruise terminal in 2013. The area now serves as a concert and event venue, bringing the otherwise quiet neighbourhood to life.
