Neighbourhood Features
Shek Kip Mei, situated in the western part of Kowloon, is primarily a residential area. Following the Shek Kip Mei Fire in 1953, the government built resettlement estates in the area to accommodate the victims. This evolved into public housing estates, including Shek Kip Mei Estate, leading to the construction of numerous residential buildings. A notable landmark in the district is the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre, formerly known as the Shek Kip Mei Industrial Building, now repurposed as a creative arts development space.

The area is primarily characterized by older public housing estates and standalone buildings. Standalone buildings include Ample Building, Fook Tin Building, Kam Yuck Building, and Po Tin Building. Additionally, there are rental housing estates such as Tai Hang Sai Estate. Most residential buildings are concentrated around Shek Kip Mei Station, offering convenient access to transportation and amenities.
