Ngau Tau Kok is situated to the south of Jordan Valley, east of Kowloon Bay and west of Ngok Yue Shan. Initially known as one of the "Four Mountains of Kowloon" along with Sai Tso Wan, Cha Kwo Ling, and Lei Yue Mun, it was primarily used for quarrying activities.

In the 1960s, the government initiated development in Ngau Tau Kok, conducting reclamation projects that gradually transformed it into a mixed-use residential and commercial development area. With the growth of residential areas, the MTR Ngau Tau Kok Station was opened in 1979 to meet the increasing population demand. In 2012, the government launched the Kowloon East Initiative, leading to the redevelopment of commercial buildings near Ngau Tau Kok and enhancing the overall community environment.

The area boasts diverse community facilities, including Ngau Tau Kok Sports Centre, Ngau Tau Kok Park, and the Municipal Services Building, providing essential amenities for residents. Ngau Tau Kok Road serves as the central hub, hosting a variety of restaurants and shops. Additionally, there are estate malls like U-mall, offering more consumer choices. Further away, large shopping centers like Yue Man Square fulfill residents' daily needs.

In terms of transportation, Ngau Tau Kok and Kowloon Bay MTR stations serve the area, and Ngau Tau Kok Road has multiple bus and minibus routes connecting to various districts in Hong Kong.

Residential Distribution

Residential areas are concentrated around Jordan Valley, Kung Lok Road, and the area near Kowloon Bay Station. The Jordan Valley residences enjoy green surroundings, close to Jordan Valley Park. Private buildings in this area include Amoy Gardens, Jade Field Garden, and Lee Kee Building, along with public housing estates like Lok Wah North Estate and Lok Wah South Estate.

The residences around Kung Lok Road are situated on higher ground and consist mainly of low-density private estates such as The Verandah Garden, Kung Lok Building, Woodview Court, and Hyde Towers. The area near Ngau Tau Kok and Kwun Tong Stations, known as the Millennium City, benefits from convenient railway transportation. Private buildings in this area include Yue Man Centre and Yan On Mansion.
