Taikoo Shing is located in Quarry Bay, Eastern District of Hong Kong Island, and is a large private residential project comprising 61 buildings. With a population of over 30,000, it is primarily inhabited by middle-class residents. Formerly the site of the Taikoo Dockyard and Sugar Refinery, it was developed and designed by Swire Properties to become the first private housing estate on Hong Kong Island, with the first phase completed by the end of 1976.
Adjacent to Taikoo Place and Cityplaza, with some of the building bases housing shops and eateries, there is a wide range of shopping options to meet daily needs. The estate features multiple platform gardens but does not include a clubhouse. Nearby, there is also Quarry Bay Park, providing ample green space. In terms of transportation, the area has the MTR Taikoo Station and is well-served by multiple bus and minibus routes connecting to various parts of Hong Kong.
