Property details
In 1981, businessman Huang Zhouxuan started the construction of Yangmingshan Villa and jointly built it with a bank[1]. The developer is Yangmingshan Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. [2], which is owned by the Huang family, the majority shareholder of Parkview Enterprises. It was established in 1981 [3].
Towers 3 to 5, owned by the Huang family, were sold in Taiwan in 1991 to repay bank loans and other debts[4][5]. Later, the Huang family planned to inject part of the units in Yangmingshan Villa into the listed company Mingren (now Parkview Enterprises)[6]. On September 30 of the same year, the fourth block was sold to Guangdong Trust[7]. In October of the same year, 150 units in Tower 3 were sold, and about 30 units were sold [8]. In November, Towers 6 and 7 were sold, and it was planned to sell Tower 5 in January 1992[9]. In 1991 and 1992, several units were injected into listed companies.
The last units held by the listed company (approximately 77,853 square feet in total) were bought back by CapitaLand (now CapitaLand) in 2001 by the major shareholder, the Wong family [10]. The Wong family had been involved in the property market downturn after 1998. Units are purchased in the secondary market for investment purposes[11].
