Hong Kong Living | February 15, 2016

Searching for a place to avoid crowds and hustle and bustle of the urban life? Coffee shops will always be a on the top of the list. They offer you a short escape from the hectic schedule and help you release stress accumulated throughout the day. There are neighborhoods famous for their coffee shops, which are definitely worth a try.

Sai Ying Pun/ Sheung Wan

The Sheung Wan and Sai Ying Pun has more coffee shops than nearby area since quite a few French expats immigrated here in the past. The combination of Historical sites, an old-school landscape and western style coffee shops also make this neighborhood trendier. Although being closed to Central, the business center, the vibe here is more slow-paced and calm. Most of the coffee shops located in this neighborhood have their own unique style and interesting stories to share.

Café Loisl

Mong Kok

Mong Kok is not only known for a shopping paradise, there are also numerous coffee shops surrounding this district. Those coffee shops are characterized by their vigor and hospitality. They also offer snacks of both western and eastern varieties. For people who would like to experience more diversified food, this area will be a perfect choice. If you are still not satisfied after dining in one the coffee shops, there are even more charming places selling small tasty snacks with little money.

Ngau Tau Kok/ Kwun Tong

Seeking for some places to spend the whole afternoon daydreaming? Between the MTR station of Ngau Tau Kok and Kwun Tong, there are several cozy coffee shops that offer a perfect place for people to hang out. Unlike coffee shops in Hong Kong Island and Mong Kok, the shops here are much more spacious and less crowed. Plus, this district is quite closed to the natural park. For people who want to go hiking in the mountain or to pay a short visit to the beautiful nature of the region, this precinct can be a suitable starting point.
