Although housing prices compiled by Centaline Property Agency rose to a record high in August, people are worried that the huge percentage decline in stocks may be a sign that property prices are going to drop any moment, since the stock gauge hasn\u2019t been this low since 1998, which was the year the most recent property bubble burst in Hong Kong. Apparently retail rents have gone down 12% in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spacious.hk\/en\/hong-kong\/causeway-bay?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=HK-EN-061015-House_Price_drop_20%25-1-Causeway_Bay\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Causeway Bay<\/a> and 3% in Central at the end of June. According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2015\/10\/04\/hong-kongs-wealthy-on-volatility-carry-trade-property.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNBC<\/a>, Hong Kong\u2019s high net worth individuals are slowly moving away from the local housing market and instead focusing on investing in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spacious.hk\/en\/hong-kong\/international?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=HK-EN-061015-House_Price_drop_20%25-3-overseas_properties\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">overseas properties<\/a> instead.
