For those not familiar, pink means prices are dropping and blue means rising (screenshot below). The data presents an interesting overview with a couple of observations:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the more expensive areas of Hong Kong e.g.&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spacious.hk\/en\/hong-kong\/the-peak\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the Peak<\/span><\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spacious.hk\/en\/hong-kong\/mid-levels-central\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Mid Levels Central<\/span><\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spacious.hk\/en\/hong-kong\/repulse-bay\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Repulse Bay<\/span><\/a>,&nbsp;<\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spacious.hk\/en\/hong-kong\/shouson-hill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shouson Hill<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/span>and&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spacious.hk\/en\/hong-kong\/pok-fu-lam\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pok Fu Lam<\/span><\/a><\/strong>,&nbsp;there were clear drops in prices. This was supported at the time by conversations we had with agents who mentioned investors from the mainland in particular were holding back on transacting as they were seriously concerned by Occupy Central.<\/li>\n<li>Despite Occupy Central,&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spacious.hk\/en\/hong-kong\/sai-ying-pun\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sai Ying Pun<\/span><\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spacious.hk\/en\/hong-kong\/shek-tong-tsui\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Shek Tong Tsui<\/span><\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;showed strong price increases. This is not surprising due to the development of the new MTR stations opening in the area.<\/li>\n<li>Wan Chai also shows an increase in price per square foot. Once again not surprising as many units in Wan Chai are sub divided, pushing up price per square foot. Prices in&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spacious.hk\/en\/hong-kong\/wan-chai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Wan Chai<\/span><\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;are somewhat of an outlier.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Price per square foot changes in mid 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spacious.hk\/zh-tw\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/2014.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-52\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spacious.hk\/zh-tw\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/2014.png\" alt=\"2014\" width=\"877\" height=\"481\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hong Kong price movements in early 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As can be seen from the graph showing price changes in early 2015, the trend has reversed with all neighbourhoods showing strong price increases.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spacious.hk\/zh-tw\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/2015-en.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-54\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spacious.hk\/zh-tw\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/2015-en.png\" alt=\"2015 en\" width=\"879\" height=\"427\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Not great news for those looking to get on the property ladder.
