It is said that the HSBC lions also<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/hong-kong\/2010\/12\/14\/corporate-feng-shui-the-good-and-bad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">protect the building\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> wealth. The HSBC building isn\u2019t an exception. Companies in Hong Kong actually<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/hong-kong\/2010\/12\/14\/corporate-feng-shui-the-good-and-bad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">allocate a portion<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of their budget for regular feng shui consultation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to the HSBC building, there are several<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2015\/02\/18\/travel\/hong-kong-feng-shui-tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">other locations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Hong Kong which are said to have excellent feng shui. <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Causeway Bay <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Central<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tamar<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Liu Clan Ancestral Hall<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Che Kung Temple<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tseng Kwan Shek, Lantau<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Barker Road, The Peak<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Bank of China Tower is said to have<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/fodors\/top\/features\/travel\/destinations\/asia\/china\/hongkong\/fdrs_feat_74_10.html?n=Top%2FFeatures%2FTravel%2FDestinations%2FAsia%2FChina%2FHong+Kong\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bad feng shui<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> due to its design. Many experts and feng shui practitioners believe that the building deprives the city of its wealth. The HSBC building actually has metal rods pointed at the Bank of China building, in an effort to reverse negative energy which emanates from the neighboring financial tower.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Feng Shui also influences housing decisions as well. Depending on the way someone dies in a Hong Kong property, many people don\u2019t want to live in the property because they believe the location may be haunted. There are some in the real estate industry who are trying to reverse negative feng shui and<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/motherboard.vice.com\/en_au\/read\/hong-kongs-property-ghost-hunters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">turn it into<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> positive energy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Feng Shui Experts <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Architecture isn\u2019t the only area where feng shui experts are consulted. Many Hong Kongers seek them out for advice on days when to get married, have children and move. They\u2019re also consulted when locals need some ghostbusting. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ng Pui-Fu, a feng shui master discusses how most people in Hong Kong encounter evil spirits,<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=5PbkBbt6Nz0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">saying<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cBecause we have religious training, it is easier for us to see it. Average people though, sense ghosts first through touch, hearing, and smell. Sight comes last. For example, you might suddenly get goosebumps or the chills. This is your sense of touch. Or you might suddenly smell decaying flesh, or it might be your hearing that alerts you. You might hear voices talking to you. Sight comes last. This means, by the time you finally see the ghost, it has already been communicating with you for a long time. For people who are being haunted by a persistent ghost, for the first month, they will only hear or feel it. Only in later stages will the person see the ghost\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The demand for feng shui consultation continues to increase, as corporations see the need to be in harmony with their surroundings. A feng shui grandmaster named Raymond Lo, elaborated on the reasons why the traditional science is important for anyone who wants to make money in Hong Kong,<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=R49c2CdI-h0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> saying<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cToday, the trend is more people realize the importance of feng shui for enhancing prosperity and well-being. A lot of architects are now coming to study feng shui because the demand comes from their customers. Not only do they have to design the building, but they also want to get feng shui accreditation for their building\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Financial experts use the science to advise clients. Sam Chi Yung, a strategist with Delta Asia Financial Group<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=R49c2CdI-h0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">spoke on<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> how he uses feng shui to enhance his client\u2019s equity returns saying \u201cToday I ask them to buy position before the morning and after that the market can fluctuate. You can try to consider to make some positions in the afternoon\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There have been some experts who\u2019ve used their influence negatively. One well-known story is that of feng shui master, Tony Chan who tried to swindle billions from Nina Wang. After her death in 2007, Chan presented a will which indicated that he was the beneficiary of her fortune.
