Selling your \u2018laziness\u2019 on the 30<sup>th<\/sup> December of the Lunar Calendar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the old days, children will go to their neighbors, banging on the door and declaring that the Money God is here. They would give them a red sheet with Money God is Here and the neighbors will open the door and give them a red pocket each.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Don\u2019t sleep in on Lunar New Year Day<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you sleep in on the brand new Lunar Year it will affect your luck in work, so remember to rise and shine on this important day!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Getting rid of the \u2018Poor Ghost\u2019 on the fifth day of Lunar New Year<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the time for spring clean \u2013 so throw out any rubbish and clean your homes, and with it your bad or \u2018poor\u2019 luck will go.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. The meaning of eating the \u2018Chinese Common Folks\u2019 Congee is to get good grades.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Personally, I find these traditions to be an integral part of Chinese Culture and a great way for family to gather together.
